Graves in Furness

This website continues to be a work in progress. There are 498 graves as I write. I am now (September 2026) adding graves that I have researched in the last few years, but not had the time to add. Many thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund for a grant in 2023 which enabled me to ask Windmill Websites to add new pages professionally. A further thanks to my wife Lynne, who diligently proof-reads the originals. Any errors and omissions remain my own.

I am also looking at the graves that Edward Sankey photographed, mainly between 1910 and 1920+, and seeing how they look now. Sankey's archive may be found at https://www.sankeyphotoarchive.uk/

I occasionally conduct guided walks around Barrow; Dalton and Ulverston Cemeteries. These may be advertised in the local press, and on the Facebook page.
