St. Michael’s Churchyard, Rampside
St. Michael’s Church partially closed towards the end of 2016 due to a dwindling congregation and the need for expensive repairs. Its future is uncertain (2018). Most services now take place in the village hall, though one service a month does take place in the church.
The building dates from 1840, with a new porch and vestry added in 1866. Its graves include many Trinity House pilots, who guided ships into the docks at Barrow.
