THE 28TH AUGUST 1847 AGED 38 YEARS.
On the 16 September 1844 Curate Thomas Ormandy married Thomas Brocklebank, of full age, Gentleman, Bachelor, of Manchester (father John Brocklebank, deceased) to Eleanor Kendall, 20 yrs. Spinster, of Gleaston. Her father was James Kendall, farmer.
Tragically, Curate Ormandy had to bury John Brocklebank, (6 months old) of Gleaston on 26 Jan 1847; Eleanor Brocklebank of Gleaston on 15 March 1847; and Thomas Brocklebank of Manchester on 31 August 1847.

Extracted from the Public Episcopal Registry of Chester
THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me Thomas Brocklebank of Manchester in the County of Lancashire I give and bequeath my brother Robert Brocklebank one hundred pounds and the remainder of my properties I give and bequeath unto and equally amongst all my sisters Jane Coward Mary XXX Wilkinson Elizabeth Goad? Stannard Park Margret (sic) King share and share alike my funeral and testamentary expenses I hereby charge upon and make payable out of my property and my will is that in case any of my said sisters shall happen to depart this life before me or before she or they shall have received their legacy leaving lawful issue the legacy or share of such so saying shall go? and be paid to such issue and if more than one equally amongst them share and share alike and in case any of my sisters shall happen to depart this life before me or before receiving such legacy as aforesaid without leaving lawful issue the legacy of such so dying shall go unto and equally amongst my surviving sisters and the issue of such of my sisters as may be had such issue nevertheless taking only the share or shares his her or their parent or respectively parents would have been entitled to if living. I appoint Robert Brocklebank of Newbarns Furness and William Lesh Newbarns Furness EXECUTORS of this my Will and I order and exhort? that they and the survivor of them shall and may from and out of the said property retain to and reimburse himself and themselves all costs XXXX and expenses where? they or either of them or may pay that or sustain in or about the execution or by means of the trusts hereby in them repose. Hereby revoking all former Wills by me heretofore made I declare this only to be and contain my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set by my hand and seal this eighteenth day Augt in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and forty seven. Proved at Chester on the 20th Oct. 1847 by Robert Brocklebank and William Lesh the Executors The right of every person being saved and time allowed to exhibit an inventory.
