MR I. SHACKLEY, RAMPSIDE

A well-known and respected resident, Mr. Isaac Shackley of Parkfield, who died on 10 March, was buried at Rampside on Saturday, the former vicar of Rampside, the Rev. H. Robinson, conducting the service.

Mr. S. Lees was the organist, and the hymns “Abide with me”, and “Jesu, lover of my soul”, and the 23rd Psalm being sung.

Mr. Shackley, who was 74, was a master baker and had been in the bakery business for many years. He founded the firm of Messrs. Shackley Ltd., in 1915, and held the position of Managing Director.

The floral tributes included those from: Staff, Shackley Ltd.; Barrow and District Master Bakers’ Association; Hartington Athletic Cricket Club and Barrow Workingmen’s C. and I. Male Voice Choir.

Messrs. W. Ormandy and Sons Ltd., Barrow, were the undertakers.
