This is an impressive memorial to members of an ordinary family, in a fairly conspicuous position near the main path. It has an interesting dove on top of the stone.

Buried at LA LOUVIERE TOWN CEMETERY
No. 30 Casualty Clearing Station was at La Louviere after the Armistice, from December 1918 to April 1919. They began the Commonwealth plot in the communal cemetery, and later, 11 Commonwealth burials made by the Germans elsewhere in the cemetery during the occupation were moved there. The cemetery now contains 49 Commonwealth burials of the First World War.
Was this a soldier who died of wounds, or a flu victim, or did he die of another unspecified illness or condition? The Battalion didn’t return to England until 2 June 1919.

Fallows (17) Iron Founder (Apprentice), General Engineering; James Fallows (14) Office Boy, General Engineering; Maude Fallows (13) School; Maggie Fallows (6) School; and Henry Fallows (37) brother, Blacksmith’s Striker, General Engineering.
