Death notice from the appropriately named Barrow Pilot newspaper 29 June 1872. ‘Same place’ was used to denote that he died in the same town, i.e. Barrow, as the previous death in the list. Note that his wife died less than a week later.
Was he part of the shipbuilding family/firm of Ashburner, who built schooners (and no doubt other types of ship) in the early days of Barrow?

There were 2 lodgers, James Donald (27), iron moulder, born Dalton, and his wife Annie (25), born Dalton.
On January 18th, 1852, John Ashburner, shipwright, married Harriet Ann Hinton, spinster, in St. Anne’s Parish Church, Limehouse. His father is recorded on the marriage certificate as Thomas Ashburner, farmer, while hers is John Hinton, shipwright.

John Ashburner, (32), shipwright, was lodging at 94 King St, Woolwich. He is recorded as being born in Ulverston, Isle of Man (sic).
A John Ashburner, born 20 September 1818, was christened on 12 December 1818 in Ulverston. Parents Thomas and Mary Ashburner. Is this the same John?
